Bode Middle School
Mark is a principal at a middle school in St Joseph Missouri. They had Jake White from Vive18 to engage the students in a message about drug and alcohol addiction and how to prevent it. He was deeply impacted by the presentation and texted his son immediately after the presentation. He loved the call to stand out instead of fitting in. He thinks it’s important to cover substance use because they see it it every day. Many times they see it on social media or at school. It effects athletes, academics and all areas of health. He says we have to provide education as marijuana becomes legal across the nation. He was amazed at the engagement that Jake created and the inviting atmosphere. There was activities, drums, games, and lots of involvement through questions. He would recommend Vive18 to other schools and enjoyed getting to know the youth speaker Jake White. He said, “All the schools around the nation need to hear this message.”
